PADI - Professional Association of Diving Instructors

As a PADI diver, you obtain a certificate recognized worldwide. Wherever you dive, you will be accepted. PADI is the largest diver training organization in the world and awards more than one million certificates a year, representing more than 75% of the total certificates awarded in the world.

The educational difference

PADI courses are designed to be pleasant and effective. You dive as soon as possible while, of course, learning at your own pace. The courses are flexible, enabling you to acquire knowledge of diving theory whilst gaining confidence and developing your underwater skills. PADI teaching materials are diversified and interactive: Books, videos, manuals, DVD… They have been translated into more than 25 languages.

During your course, your instructor will make sure that you are capable of attaining the certification you are seeking whilst basing his/her teaching on the principle of performance. This means that you will progress to the same degree as your ability in mastering the skills required to become a diver. You will have to earn your PADI certification, but will always do so in an encouraging and positive environment.

International integrity
The quality of PADI teaching is well known. PADI especially makes sure that its instructors teach their courses in conformance with the standards that the organization imposes and with a constant concern for integrity, adaptation to student needs, and respect for the local environment. PADI represents more than 130,000 professionals and approximately 5300 PADI Dive Centres and Resorts operating in 183 countries. You will easily find an instructor that will speak your language and offer you the one-of-a-kind experience of underwater diving. Throughout the world, you will meet PADI divers who can become your partners.

Professional quality

Each new instructor must demonstrate a thorough knowledge of the PADI system and the capacity to lead the PADI programs in conformance to specific standards. Before obtaining the PADI instructor qualification, all candidates are evaluated by an examiner directly employed by PADI. This assures an evaluation process that is objective, fair, and in conformance to PADI standards.

All PADI diving programs, both recreational and professional, meet strict educational norms; their on site application is rigidly controlled. PADI has adopted a proactive approach to quality management and randomly examines PADI divers in order to verify that their courses have met the organization norms as well as their own expectations. No other diving training organization makes this effort to maintain this level of reliability and professional integrity.

Environmental Responsibility

PADI has invested significantly in the preservation and protection of the aquatic environment. PADI courses emphasize the promotion of Project A.W.A.R.E (Aquatic World Awareness, Responsibility and Education) increasing the divers' involvement in protecting their Aquatic Realm.
Each PADI course conveys understand the importance of taking an active role in the preservation of this world.
As a PADI diver, you will have the opportunity to participate in numerous ecological projects.
